Brightness by Wael Seaiby

'Yes my choice of tone of color is completely deliberate. I like bright colors but I am not a fan of flashy colors. A lot of people mistake bright for flashy, but as cheesy as it sounds, there really is a fine line that separates bright from flashy. I rely a lot on color, and it's evident in my illustrations; I very rarely use lines or contours. I draw with color rather than lines, so I do take my time in choosing the "correct" colors. Okay now I sound like I have a very complicated process of color choice, which I don't! I always end up choosing what what appeals to me. I think I'd like to be surrounded by the colors I use in my work.' (Wael Saiby, 2012)
