The winter is depressing for a lot of people, often for women more so than for men. Barbora Adamonyte takes matters in her own hands to do something about it. She’s a designer. Still in school but already getting quite a bit of media attention with her lamps, her Kinetic Sunrise lamps. When working on the project, Barbora found herself immersed in light and color as her whole room was filled with reflecting materials she was testing for the lamp.

What are they? Kinetic Sunrise lamps are lamps. The special thing about them is that you can adjust the color of the light as you wish. Sometimes blue works well, sometimes yellow suits your mood better. Barbora loves DIY, she made lamp all by hand, which is good as a designer. She also works for a magazine, where she does the DIY section. So she makes the lamps herself. And the lamps encourage you to choose your colors yourself. Of course the yellows are spring colors, but they can be great to have in your room in the winter to wake you up in the winter time, or reds to warm you a little. But select the colors by how you feel at the moment and you’ll better, energized or relaxed quickly! Barbora is interested in psychology, and the lamps will appeal to anyone who believes in color psychology.

Although the lamp is still only a prototype, she does hope to bring it to production as there has been a lot of attention for them. It’s difficult to move from a prototype to a finished product. Not just financially. There’s a lot of steps in the design process to get to something that produceable. Let’s hope Barbora gets that far with her Kinetic Sunrise Lamps.
