He’s become more aggressive over the years, in terms of his use of colors. He is Hense, an Atlanta based artist. He’s adjust to what he thought his customers would like, so he wouldn’t pink for example, trying to keep his colors muted. He was very cautious about how people would react to the colors he used for his paintings. In the past colors felt too powerful for Hense, especially very bright colors. Over the years he’s become more aggressive, almost going over the top with bold colors. Even using colors he didn’t used to like, like purple for example.

Some of his work reminds you of graffitti, but Hense doesn’t think about it that way. To him his pieces are murals, exteriors, large scale paintings. ‘The church is a giant painting as opposed to a mural.’ Hense explains. But with the exteriors he has to be more careful that the paintings don’t turn out like a rainbow. He’s done different types of work, also using silk screens combined with spray paints, experimenting with different processes where he can.
